Salty on your taste buds, how salt brings out other flavors, salting to taste, double salt licorice. All before I go to Salt Lake City on Thursday. (A coincidence, I swear.)
To start you off:
Salts of the Earth, an article about sea salts.
My favorite fancy salt:

Lavender Salt from Eatwell Farm
Sorry the picture’s a bit fuzzy. I like the lavender salt on roast beets. Available from Eatwell Farm’s Lavender Farm by phone or at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmer’s Market.
And, a book about salt:

Do you own the book? I bet you it’s an interesting read.
I have always been a big fan of salt, probably as influenced by a famous (in Slovakia) Slovak folk tale, “Salt over Gold”, which was also made into an awesome children’s film. I highly recommend reading the tale, I don’t think it’s long. English translation here.
I don’t own the book but after thinking about salt for two days I really want to read it. (More salty posts coming as soon as I have a draft of a poster done.)
